ℹ 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝘆𝗶 28.09.20 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐃𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐌: 𝐴 𝐷𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑝𝑖𝑟𝑖𝑡 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑠𝑒 𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝑑𝑎𝑦𝑠 Once upon a time in the late 1990s, I was drafted into the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in Nigeria and was posted to Katsina State. Soon enough, I gained acceptance into one of the government Parastatals over there and was posted to the Head Quarters to commence my Youth Service. All went well in those days and I became the Coordinator of Corpers' LoveWorld Katsina (a thriving fellowship then, which eventually became the Christ Embassy Church in Katsina). About eight months into my service year, the new batch of Youth Corpers were admitted into the NYSC scheme and had arrived at the Orientation Camp Ground located in Dutsin Ma Local Government Area. In those days, it was tradition to go to the Camp, set up our Fellowship there, welcome the new intakes, and engage in evangelism day & night, so as to win and retain as much souls as possible to the Lord and into our Fellowship. Outside the fact that it was a tradition, I also heard the Holy Ghost asking me to go to the Camp. Thus, I was excited about it and mobilized the brethren with me for the breath-taking adventure. Days later, I went to the office in the government Parastatal where I was serving and applied in writing for a two-week leave. Before now, I was the darling of the staff there, especially the Comptroller, a Muslim, who had on several occasions commended my calm disposition and demeanour. In less than 30 minutes, the Comptroller had responded positively to my letter. My leave request was granted swiftly. Then I thought within myself that I was not very honest in my request letter. I reasoned that I had not indicated my purpose for requesting the leave. So, I decided to write a second letter, but this time to indicate my reason for the leave request. In hindsight, this action is very laughable and I am almost ashamed to pen it down, but then, like Joseph I had not learnt to not tell everything to everyone. Thus, I sent in my second request letter and this time it came out twice as fast as the first. The Comptroller's reply was "NO NO NO! Not Approved, Not Granted." It didn't stop there, the Comptroller himself came out personally to verbally tell me "No." But the Lord had said to go, so I went. In Camp, the expedition was super successful. Many got saved and came into our Fellowship, the miraculous was ever present with us, and other LoveWorld brethren of the new batch of Corpers were excited and relieved to find 'family' in Camp. It was glorious. Meanwhile, trouble was brewing back at my place of primary assignment. A week into my leave, a colleague of mine travelled to Camp and told me to return immediately, revealing that the Comptroller had written to the NYSC office and terminated my deployment to his parastatal. Well, my work was not yet done in the Camp. I thanked her for the concern but remained in Camp. By the end of the two weeks, I arrived the office and the entire staff seemed to be waiting for me. Quickly, I was ushered into the Comptroller's office and he ordered me to report back to the NYSC secretariat, which I did. Interestingly, the Secretariat deliberated on the matter and told the Comptroller that it was too late in the year to send a Youth Corper back, and that should the Comptroller insist, his Government Parastatal would be struck out of the Deployment list and blacklisted. Eventually, I was accepted back to the Parastatal, but with a Condition: No pay for my last remaining 3 months in the service year. Those three months turned out to be trying times but I was undeterred. And, I pulled through. In retrospect, that entire year shaped the person I became, for I learnt duty, loyalty, and activism in serving the Lord. And, that was when the Holy Spirit exposed me to Mark 10.29 - 30. “And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. -Mark 10:29-30 In these last days, being a kingdom activist is the only option on the ballot. It may cost you something, even your neck but eventually, the distress, at best, falls under "light affliction." For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:17 KJV Faith's Hall of Fame in Hebrew 11 paraded the men and women of faith, and how these heroes of faith in their generation held the torch for the kingdom and were counted worthy of the Lord. Today, it's your tum. You are on stage now. Heed the demand of the Spirit in these last days. Be a Kingdom Activist. God bless you. #KINGINGᴡɪᴛʜPᴀsᴛᴏʀUʏɪ 𝗙𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧
