LCBC 2021 DAY 1 The word Ministering: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DD DSC TOPIC: 4 COMPELLING FACTORS OF THE GOSPEL You have to allow the Holy Spirit to perfect His work in you (John 14:16). Jesus sent the HolySpirit to come and help us so we will be the realisation of His Vision. There are too many of God's people that don't understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. In your service to God, the things that should compel you are: 1. Truth of the Gospel; the factuality of the Gospel. This Gospel is true, it's real. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners and that He was indeed the son of God in the flesh and He was crucified and that God raised Him from the dead and His alive today. When He died, we died with Him, when He was buried, we were buried with Him, when He was raised, we were raised with Him (2 Corinthians 5:19). What a hope! In Christ you live. There is nothing like it . To think that this is the gospel that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David and the Prophets looked forward to and they all prophesied about it. When I think about Jesus and what the gospel means, I'm compelled. I'm compelled by the Truth of the Gospel 2. You’re compelled by His love. β€œFor God so loved the world...should not perish...”(John 3:16). This is a sovereign declaration of the Almighty God. This means God loved us as much as He loved Jesus. If God so loved me, it means He's with me, He must care about everything that concerns me. And so, my mentality and thinking process is changed forever because I know God loves me. The Bible says He was bruised not for His transgressions but our transgressions, not for his iniquity but our iniquities. Jesus loves us and He died to save us. I AM COMPELLED BY HIS LOVE! If that He died for us, then all died, and now His alive that all who live may live through Him. It's impossible for me to contemplate anything else as though Jesus didn't die for me. I can't contemplate of reason any opinion that tries to rub me of the Blessings of the fact that Christ died for me. If you are opportuned to be a Pastor or to serve the Lord in any capacity; you should count yourself Blessed. If you have that consciousness, it will change the way you think and do things. By Him the Bible says all things consists. If you have that consciousness, it will affect what you do and the way you do what you do. 3. I'm compelled by the opportunities of the sinful world. So many people forget that they were saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. They are working for God as though they are working for some company. "Lo I am with u all ways..." is not in their consciousness. We have to realise that the sinfulness of our world provides for us an extraordinary opportunity (Romans 8:29). The darker our world, the brighter we'll shine. (Isaiah 1:18) I AM COMPELLED BY THE OPPORTUNITIES OF THE SINFUL WORLD! Jesus came not for the righteous, but He came for the sinners (Mark 16:20). 4. I'm compelled by His commission You know Jesus said in Mark 16:15; β€œGo ye into all the world and preach the gospel...” I'm commissioned to preach the gospel, I'm compelled by his instruction. If I confess that truly Jesus is the Lord of my life, I've got to tell everybody. Christ Jesus came to save sinners, and then He gave them new life. The life we live, we have to live for Him (1 Corinthians 9:16). If you understand the gospel, you will esteem God's people so high. Even those you consider to be the least of them. #ceabakaliki #LCBC2021 #YearOfPreparation #AsWePray
