LET GOD TRAIN YOU "For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried" (Psalms 66:10) Did you know that Moses was forty years old when he ran away from Egypt into the desert? There he became a shepherd for another forty years while in self-exile. He didn't step into his ministry until he was in his eighties. Why did God wait so long? Impatience is the problem with many Christians, most especially ministers. Once they're able to perceive the ministry God has called them into, they immediately launch themselves into it, and five years after God showed them a great vision for their ministry, they become discouraged because they think He has forgotten all about it. God didn't forget about anything at all, you're the one who wasn't yet ready for it! The more yielded you are to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, the faster the process of your training and the sooner those visions of the Spirit will come to pass in your life or ministry. Moses knew he was the deliverer of the Jews even while he was still living in Pharaoh's palace, but God had to train him for the work ahead; and that took another forty years. Daisy Osborn used to say, "Start from the backyard and work your way to China." You must be well trained by the Holy Spirit; He must prove your faithfulness first.
