2016 FALA winner from Zimbabwe, Sharon Sambaza, organized a lunch for children with cerebral palsy in a community.
Cerebral palsy is a chronic condition caused by abnormal brain development and results in muscle deformity, speech disorders, muscle spasms, and seizures.
It is a debilitating illness and affected family members that suffer from such disease were being isolated with little or no support.
In this regard, Ambassador Sharon reached out to 15 families having children and living with this disability in Dzivarasekwa, an impoverished community in Zimbabwe.
Sharon provided each family with a hamper filled with an adequate number of foodstuffs, toiletries, and basic amenities needed at home.
This brought a shimmer of hope and laughter to these families. They were so glad and full of joy at receiving these hampers and expressed their utmost gratitude to the President of the FALF, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
We applaud Sharon for going the extra mile in reaching out to these kids with cerebral palsy.
