Happy birthday pastor ma
THE CORNET DAILY DEVOTIONAL THE ESSENCE OF PRAYER Wednesday 26th May, 2021 Pastor David Omongole “Now therefore, restore his wife to the man. For he is a prophet, and he shall pray for you, and you shall live…” (Genesis 20:7 MKJV) The patriarch Abraham is the first person who prayed when we are directly told of prayer in the Bible. When Abraham and Sarah moved to Gerar, “Abraham said of his wife, "She's my sister." So Abimelech, king of Gerar, sent for Sarah and took her.” (Genesis 20:2 MSG) Before Abimelech could touch Sarah, God came to him in a dream and told him that she was a married woman. God instructed him to return her to Abraham and said “He shall pray for you and you shall live”. Notice that God didn’t say “I’m going to give you life because you have not sinned.” He said “Restore his wife, and he shall pray for you and you shall live.” Abimelech hearkened to God and restored Sarah. Then “…Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.” (Genesis 20:17 KJV) So the first time a man prayed, he preserved a life and also brought healing. Interestingly, Abraham’s wife was also barren; but God made him to pray for other people and they bore children. Someone will say “How come Abraham had that power but he wasn’t using it on his own wife?” just like some people wonder when they see a minister of God who teaches the Word, blesses other people and heals the sick but has a blind eye. Well, the Bible doesn’t tell us what happened between Genesis chapter 20 where Abraham prayed for the house of Abimelech and chapter 21 where Sarah conceived; but there are possible things that we can see. Either, Abraham gave and he received the same grace that he was giving just like we see with Jesus in John chapter four. He was hungry but when He ministered to the Samaritan woman at the well, He was replenished and He never had need for physical food that day. Or, Abraham could have woken up to the reality that he had healing power within him and so he could pray for his own wife and she conceives. Glory to God! Up to date; prayer is very relevant. You can preserve lives and minister healing through prayer. Hallelujah! CONFESSION God has given me power to preserve lives and heal the sick. I stir up this power in prayer and direct it to cause changes all around me. I am yielded to the Spirit of God as He leads me to sort certain matters through prayer. As I minister the blessings of God to people all around me, I partake of the same blessings. Glory to God! FURTHER STUDY John 4:31-34 KJV “In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” James 5:15 KJV “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” Follow this link to receive The Cornet Daily Devotional by Email http://bit.ly/cornetdailydevotional #GreatGrace
