I have never been a fan of draw-soup. Why should the process of eating become more grievous than enduring the hunger? What's wrong with the simple process of snatching the ball of fufu (a k a swallow), visiting the soup bowl (where it is baptized by immersion) and then proceeding to deposit the soup-doused ball of fufu in your mouth? That's the simple triangular movement of feeding in Africa, especially with our numerous delicious soup dishes. Fufu - soup - mouth, and back to fufu... Not so with draw-soup! Made from okro, ogbono and the likes, draw-soup comes so elastic and viscous that you have to approach your mouth several times in an attempt to break the elasticity; an ill-timed sport that any genuinely hungry fellow can scarcely afford. My "beef" with draw-soup is not new; it dates way back to my childhood. It usually took an angry mom standing over me, cane in hand, to get me to perform that painful ritual of eating draw-soup. Then wife came... and she liked draw soup! Oh, woman! All I've told you were the thoughts that came to me a few months ago as I sat over a bowl of draw soup, caressing every ball of swallow, chasing the liquid as it rolled down my fingers to the back of my palms. I smiled broadly, almost laughing out loud, when I caught myself grooving draw-soup with such relish! Nobody knew why. Oh, woman! What in the world happened? You happened! Thank you for, without a fight, reconciling me with draw-soup!😁 Happy birthday, Jane!!!
WHAT I TOLD MY DAUGHTER TODAY ... AS SHE TURNS TWENTY-ONE. * Marriage is not an achievement; it is in the natural course of life for those who desire it. I do not believe that marriage is the very next thing in view. Even though I met your mom when she was about your present age, it must not be the natural aspiration of every young woman to come of age just to get married. There is so much you could do with your life. Chart your course consciously. If you desire it and THINK IT RIGHT FOR YOU, you may then get married. If it's not clear, ASK GOD. * I do not subscribe to the often-held notion, especially among Africans, that for every woman, there is a specific man out there, known only to God and revealed only to the woman who prays hard enough for it. God's children everywhere are generally beautiful. A wife is FOUND in a woman who lives out the love-nature of God which is embedded in her spirit. Nothing beautifies and distinguishes you like the anointing of the Lord. *Finally, never stop singing! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Olive!!! (LOML 😁)
One day, I will tell the many stories of my journey as a missionary Christian. I will tell those stories in a book but until then, I must go about my Father's business, redirecting the young and compelling them with His Love off the streets... CHILDREN'S DAY... MAKE IT THEIR DAY Wait a minute! What exactly did Jesus see in these people that made Him say, "the kingdom of heaven is for such as these"? What's so special about people who can neither fend for themselves nor defend themselves? They sleep deep and long, unperturbed by worries and bills. You smile with your teeth, but they smile with their teeth, eyes and ears. For them you do the toil To them you return the spoil. Folk who can hardly keep secrets! You're doomed if you trust them to decode your wink and shut up. They'd announce it to the world! Ask Peter. The guys were all on the run, seeing that Jesus had been arrested by this brutal mob. Peter thought he'd made it through... till the little girl spotted him. "He's one of them", she shouted. You could see the glimmer of excitement in her eyes. Hot sweat broke out on Peter's forehead while his desperate eyes pleaded with her to understand and "sharrap"! "That's Jesus's main guy", she insisted, a mischievous smile on her face. Damn! What was she thinking? That this was a movie? Do they even think? It took all of Peter's lying wizardry to escape being lynched. You were smart enough to pack a lunch box of fish and bread for your boy, knowing he would need it at the crusade ground; but what does he do? He hands it to the Master to share to all! The people are impossible! Get them some plastic shoes from your meager salary and they're suddenly eager to cross their legs in public, determined to outshine their more affluent friends with designer shoes. They can't tell the difference. The same child who made them cry yesterday is the one they're asking to bring home for lunch. They love across races, tribes and denominations. Tell them the word of God can do anything and you're in for it. You would have to explain why that lady still comes to church in a wheel chair; why John's daddy has no car; why your house doesn't have a garden and a swimming pool. Tell them about faith and the next thing is "My father has an aero plane, in Jesus's name!" As they say in Nigeria, "these children will not kill somebody o!" They believe easily, they believe carelessly. They are the believers. That's why at the INNERCITY MISSION OF CHRIST EMBASSY, we go all out to get them from the streets and other habitations of cruelty, and build them spiritually, mentally and otherwise, until they are established. HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY!!!
Friends, pls don't only say a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wife today, also say a big THANK YOU to her for being a huge support, accommodating my numerous travels and the demands of a busy ministry! CONGRATULATIONS. Jane!!
#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 23RD JANUARY. I affirm that I have passed from death unto life. I am the glory of God, a life-giver, and dispenser of eternal verities! Eternal life is at work in me. I am full of life; my entire being is inundated with divine life and energy. I am alive to God—spirit, soul, and body. Therefore, sickness and disease have no place in my body, because the Spirit of God lives in me, and He rids my system of everything inconsistent with the divine life. My path is illuminated with the light of God’s Word; I do not lack direction. I am an answer from God. Everywhere I go, I am relevant because I am loaded with supernatural wisdom and insight to provide the right answers to questions, and solutions to problems. I am indeed an answer to the cries of millions all over the world because I function in the wisdom of God. Hallelujah! The Lord is my source and my sufficiency; I do not lack or suffer want for any good thing; I have all things that pertain to life and godliness. I am an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ; the world belongs to me. I am enjoying my inheritance of financial abundance and supernatural prosperity in Christ. Glory to God. Hallelujah!
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL SEE THAT YOU'VE BEEN GLORIFIED Tuesday, January 23rd Pastor Chris Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). When Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the Bible says, "...the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked..." (Genesis 3:7). Their fall made them "see" that they were naked, and they became ashamed and afraid. "...I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself" (Genesis 3:10). The Lord's response to him was, "...Who told thee that thou wast naked?" (Genesis 3:11). It matters what you see and how you see. Adam saw his guilt and his shame, but that's not what God wants you to see. Isaiah 33:20 says, "LOOK upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall SEE Jerusalem a quiet habitation...." The Hebrew word for "look" is "cházáh," and it means to look and see from the realm of the spirit; to see the unseen. It was this ability to see from the spirit-realm that Adam and Eve lost, and couldn't see the glory anymore. Now, our theme scripture says, "...if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." The word "behold" is the Greek "idou," which is akin to the Hebrew word, "cházáh." It means to become spiritually aware, to see, and come alive to what you see. God wants you to see, become spiritually aware, that you're clothed with glory. The glory that was lost is now restored and realized in Christ. That's the meaning of Colossians 1:27. "Christ in you the hope of glory" means glory has been realized; it has come! Jesus said, "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them..." (John 17:22). Therefore, see that you've been glorified! Romans 8:30 declares, "Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also...glorified." There's no reason to be afraid or run from God; He's taken away all the guilt, reproach and shame from your life and wants you to see that you're now His righteousness in Christ Jesus. See that you've been justified by faith and have peace with God! See that you're a success and a victor forever. Hallelujah! PRAYER Dear Father, I love you; I thank you for granting me insight into realities, to see and walk in your glory. My life is the expression of your beauty, excellence, and wisdom, in Jesus' Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY: 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord. Isaiah 60:1-2 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. Daily Scripture Reading 1-Year Bible Reading Plan: Matthew 15:29- 16:1-12; Exodus 3-5 2-Year Bible Reading Plan: Acts 11:15-30; Job 17 Good morning ☕ Do have a fruitful day God bless you.
#AFFIRMATION 17TH JANUARY I affirm that God has made all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to me, so that I may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity. This is my time and my season; I am rightly positioned by the Spirit of the Lord for a wealth transfer. Hallelujah! The Spirit of God has open the eyes of my understanding to the right connections and ideas I need to be ahead in my field. I am divinely connected with all resources—human, material, financial—that are consistent with my destiny in Christ. My eyes are anointed to see opportunities everywhere I go, and I am divinely empowered to take advantage of them. I believe and acknowledge the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ who though was rich, made Himself poor that I might become rich. I accept my prosperity as His will and plan for my life. Hallelujah! God has given unto me the hidden treasures of the earth, and my gates are continually open to receive. Blessed be God! Hallelujah!
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES PASTOR CHRIS THEME: THE DARKNESS HAS NOTHING IN YOU WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 17TH THEME SCRIPTURE: Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the PRINCE OF THIS WORLD cometh, and hath nothing in me (John 14:30). From the verse above, it’s obvious who “the prince of this world” is; it certainly couldn’t be Jesus or the Father. It’s Satan. The Bible says, “...now shall the prince of this world be cast out” (John 12:31). 2 Corinthians 4:4 calls him the “god of this world”: “In whom the GOD OF THIS WORLD hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” Satan is the god of this world’s system, and that’s the reason the world is in a mess. And when the Bible says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him”*_ (1 John 2:15), it’s addressing the world’s system, and all it stands for: the worldliness, for which Satan is the prince. You don’t belong in that world, and must therefore not play by its rules. Jesus said you’re not of this world (John 15:19). You’re not of the darkness. You’ve been called out, plucked out of darkness into God’s marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Therefore, affirm that there’s nothing of darkness in you. Your affections, desires, and pleasures are set on high, on things above and not on things in the earth. Have no desire for anything of the world, because you’re complete in Christ. When Jesus said, “…for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me,” (John 14:30), He was affirming His completeness in God, and detachment from Satan and anything of the world. That’s the way He wants you to think. You don’t require anything of this world, because you’re complete in Christ in whom dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9-10). You’re full and replete with God. There’s no room in you for Satan and his evil works of darkness. Let this be your daily confession. PRAYER Dear Father, I thank you for your precious Son, Jesus. As He is, so am I in this world. The prince of this world has nothing in me; I’m full of God, complete in Christ, and I have no desire for the world and its worldliness, because the love of the Father is in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY: ROMANS 8:10-11 10 And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 1 JOHN 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 THESSALONIANS 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. #AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 16TH JANUARY. I affirm that I am anointed with the Holy Ghost to preach the good news of Christ’s salvation and bring as many as the Father had ordained out of darkness into His marvelous light, and into the glorious liberty of the sons of God. I am convinced that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes, hence, my avowed commitment to its continued propagation around the world. By the ability of the Spirit, I will keep preaching and fulfilling God’s plan of bringing many to righteousness. I am of the day and not of the night. I am the light of the world; my calling is to illumine the hearts of men. When I arrive anywhere, illumination comes, and confusion and perplexity are dispelled. Hallelujah. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; I am making progress with giant strides today, with all of nature, and everything that exists, working together in my favour. I dwell in Zion; the Kingdom of light, and of God’s dear Son where I reign with Christ and rule by the power of the Spirit! Blessed be God. Hallelujah!
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES TUESDAY 16 JANUARY 2018 PASTOR CHRIS Newness Of Life In Christ Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3-4). Our theme scripture is quite outstanding. It begins by letting us know that we’ve been baptized into “Jesus Christ,” and not just “Christ.” The latter means being put in the body of Christ, but the former makes it so strong so that you can better understand when the Bible says, “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones” (Ephesians 5:30). It doesn’t get any better than that. You were baptized into Jesus Christ, meaning that you’re lost in Him, immersed in Him. You’ve become inseparably one with Him that you can’t be distinguished from Him: “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17). Now, the second part that’s even more thrilling is the fact that we weren’t just baptised unto Him in His death, but were also raised up together with Him to a newness of life. The Bible says, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). The Apostle Paul talks about the death of Christ, but there was also the resurrection, which is the victory and the glory. The resurrection of Jesus Christ made Christianity possible. Christianity didn’t begin with His death, for His death didn’t give us life; however, His resurrection ushered us into a newness of life. His death paid for our sins, but didn’t give us a new life. That’s why salvation isn’t the result of the confession or affirmation of His death, but of His resurrection: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9). There’s a newness of life in Christ; there’s a new consciousness, with the understanding that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so, you also should walk in newness of life. That means, reckon yourself to have come out of spiritual death. You have a new life now; the old nature is dead; your past doesn’t exist; you’re a new creation in Christ Jesus; a superior creation! Hallelujah! PRAYER I know who I am; I’m not of this world. I’m a new creation; I’ve come out of death, and I’m perfected in Christ Jesus. Christ is alive in me—spirit, soul, and body—in Jesus’ Name. Amen. #AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 23RD DECEMBER. I affirm the Lordship, majesty, honour and glory of Christ over everything that concerns me: my health, academics, family, finances, and ministry. Therefore, I experience continuous victories, absolute peace, joy, prosperity, and divine health. Hallelujah! I am in Christ, and I am filled with all the fullness of God. I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all the hardships, troubles, perils and corrupting influences in the world. Though I live in this world, I am not of this world. I hail from God, and He has given me authority and ability in Christ to dominate and triumph over circumstances. Daily, the glory in the Word and the righteousness thereof are manifest and evident in my life. My faith is alive and producing results as I put the Word to work. The Word of God in my mouth causes circumstances to align with God’s perfect will for me, delivering to me every blessing that’s ordained for me in Christ. Blessed be God! This is something to shout about. Keep saying it, don't stop talking it. Remember, your mouth is the edge of a weapon. Refuse to be quiet!
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL KNOWING AND ENJOYING YOUR INHERITANCE Saturday, December 23rd Pastor Chris Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (1 Corinthians 2:12). 1 Corinthians 3:21 says, “...All things are yours.” It doesn’t get clearer or more direct than that. 2 Peter 1:3 emphasises the same reality. It says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness….” There’s nothing you need today that isn’t already made available to you in Christ. However, there’s no way you can appropriate the blessings of God to your life if you don’t know the Word. Through the Word, you discover your inheritance; but there’s more. It’s one thing to discover your inheritance, it’s another thing to enjoy it; and that’s where the Holy Spirit comes in. We read in our opening verse, part of His ministry in our lives: He helps us know our divine endowments; things that have been given to us freely by God. Then, the ensuing verse thirteen says, “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth…” (1 Corinthians 2:13). Did you notice that? He helps us know, and teaches us to speak what we know. That’s the key to enjoying your inheritance. The affirmation of it makes it real. Life in its fullness, fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, righteousness, peace, divine healing and health, prosperity, forgiveness, etc., are some of God’s glorious blessings given to you to enjoy freely; speak them forth. Philemon 1:6 says, “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” Acknowledging the good things in you doesn’t mean a passive recognition of the blessings you have in Christ. Rather, it means to recognise and affirm your blessings and heritage in Christ. It means to recognise and vocalise all that you are, all that you have, and all that you can do in Christ. Hallelujah! PRAYER Precious Holy Spirit, I love you; thank you for helping me recognize your wonderful blessings in my life, and teaching me how to enjoy them! Life in its fullness, fellowship with the Father and with the Son Jesus Christ, righteousness, divine healing peace, and health, prosperity, a life of glory and excellence are present hour all possessions, Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY: 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. #AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 21ST DECEMBER. I affirm that I am a success and victor forever! The blessing of the Lord is at work in me in an increasing measure, it’s producing great results in every area of my life. I am a peculiar treasure unto God and He has separated and ordained me to showcase the beauty of His splendour. As the Father is, so am I in this world. I have all the attributes of God because the life and nature of God are resident in me. Today and always, as I call things forth, they come into being. Hallelujah! My words are not ordinary; they are filled with divine energy, producing that which I send them to accomplish. No weapon formed against me shall ever prosper. Hallelujah! The blessing of the Lord is all over me; from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, I am inundated with His blessings. This blessing causes me to prosper and flourish in all that I do. I am like a tree planted by the rivers of waters. I do not know when heat comes because I am mightily blessed of the Lord. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places. Yes! I have a goodly heritage. Glory to God!
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL THE WINNING MENTALITY Thursday, December 21st Pastor Chris I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13). Those who grew up in homes where their confession was at variance with the thoughts in the opening text may have had it difficult to cultivate the kind of mentality Paul exhibited. They might have grown up listening to their parents say, “I can’t do this,” or “I can’t do that”; “there’s no money,” or “we don’t have enough.” But you see, this is the Spirit’s desire for you: to cultivate the “I can do” mentality. That’s the way I think. Whatever God has laid for me to do, I can do it. I can do anything; I can have anything; I can! In Paul’s epistle to the Philippians, we read of his beautiful, Spirit-inspired testimony of himself. He had come to terms with the truth that the ability to do the impossible was at work in him, and that he was solely responsible for the extent to which that power in him worked. Notice that he didn’t say, “We can do all things...”; rather, he personalized it; this was his very own testimony. He made a confession that the ability of the Spirit had been granted him to achieve supernatural exploits in life. This same Apostle, in Ephesians 3:20-21, writes, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Practise this. You might even make a lot of mistakes, but don’t be discouraged; that doesn’t mean anything, because you’re still learning; soon enough you’ll perfect it. Someone might say “I don’t have sufficient time to achieve the things i want to do,” no! When you practise making the “I can do” confession, such things will be totally eradicated from your vocabulary, and therefore, your system. Rather than saying you don’t have time for this or that, keep your composure, knowing that the God who lives in you is the owner of time. In Joel 2:25 (MSG), He said, “I’ll make up for the years of the locust, the great locust devastation—Locusts savage, locusts deadly, fierce locusts, locusts of doom….” If He can restore wasted years, He can restore wasted months, wasted weeks, wasted days, wasted hours, wasted minutes, wasted seconds, and wasted moments. Hallelujah! PRAYER Dear Father, thank you for your power that works in me mightily. I declare that I can do all things through your Spirit that’s at work in me. Nothing is impossible unto me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY: Colossians 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. 2 Corinthians 3:5 AMPC Not that we are fit (qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments or to claim or count anything as coming from us, but our power and ability and sufficiency are from God.
