ONGOING VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION DRIVE AT CHRIST EMBASSY LAGOS ZONE 5 Thank you CE Lagos Zone 5 and members of the Volunteer Medical Corps @vmcorps for partnering with us to make blood available for complications associated with medical and surgical procedures. These efforts will safeguard the availability of blood at health establishments in the region. #CELZ5 #safebloodforall #TCIFBloodDonor

A BIG THANK YOU TO LOVEWORLD SOUTHERN AFRICA "ZONE A"CAMPUS MINISTRY Every two seconds, someone somewhere needs blood. Regular blood donation is needed to ensure that blood will be available whenever and wherever. Blood donors are heroes, and we say thank you for successfully hosting a voluntary blood donation drive and joining our Global Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign this year. #tcif #safebloodsavelives #everylifecounts #TCIFBloodDonor

WORLD TRAUMA DAY 2020 THE TCIF VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION INITIATIVE This initiative motivates individuals to voluntarily donate blood regularly through well-organized blood donation drives, creating an international network of voluntary blood donors that will help to ensure availability of blood for transfusion in public health institutions, emergency centers anywhere, anytime. Blood donation helps meet the needs of trauma patients and others with serious medical conditions. By giving blood regularly, donors help ensure that enough blood is readily available for patients when every second matters. #everylifecounts #tcif #safebloodforall #safebloodsavelives

WORLD TRAUMA DAY 2020 OUR BASIC EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING (BERT) Research has shown that the outcomes of emergencies and accidents are usually better when there is a skilled person on site to respond appropriately to the situation. The BERT program is designed to make law enforcement officers better trained 'First Responders' who can effectively administer first aid, resuscitate casualties, evacuate and transport them properly to the hospital. With primary focus on public officers involved in emergency care and traffic management, law enforcement officials. These sect are more often than not first responders at emergency scenes. #tcif #everylifecounts

WORLD TRAUMA DAY 2020 OUR CHILD SAFETY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN In the event of a medical emergency, a person knowledgeable in first aid becomes more than a bystander; they become an invaluable support not only to victims, but to emergency responders and medical practitioners. Our Child Safety Awareness Campaign is designed to raise a generation of children who are aware of basic first aid and safety measures and who can recognize emergencies and respond appropriately. #everylifecounts #safebloodsavelives #tcif

WORLD TRAUMA DAY 2020 World Trauma Day is observed on the 17th of October every year with emphasis on the importance of saving and protecting lives during emergencies. Morbidities and mortalities can be prevented with timely interventions such as: •       The right knowledge when handling emergencies •       The availability of pre-hospital care equipment like first aid kits •       Timely hospital care The outcomes of traumatic injuries are worsened due to poor knowledge of pre-hospital emergency response amongst first responders and poor management of trauma casualties, among other factors. As a Non-Governmental Organization with the focus on health and safety, we have addressed the aforementioned with several of our life-saving projects:        Our first aid and emergency response trainings for kids, school teachers and adults from all walks of life, equipping them with the right knowledge on how to effectively administer first aid during emergencies.        Our voluntary blood donation drives. This initiative alone has helped increase the availability of safe blood for millions all over the world who need blood. Despite the pandemic which resulted in a severe decrease in blood availability, we as an NGO mobilized many from three continents of the world to donate blood, and this resulted in an increase in blood availability.        Our First Responder Network was created to provide prompt, fast and free response services to victims of traumatic injuries in their locations without discrimination. #everylifecounts #safebloodsavelives #tcif
