GreenIQ Smart Garden GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub controls your watering and irrigation. You just connect it to your irrigation valves and connect it to the Internet. GreenIQ can connect to the Internet in three ways. There’s an Ethernet connection, Wi-Fi connectivity, and even HSDPA connectivity. You can also connect your garden’s lighting to your smart irrigation controller. It comes with a browser-based app that can run on any device connected to the Internet, including PCs, Android devices, or iOS devices. Using the mobile app, you can create your own schedules and even control when the garden lights come on or turn off. You can check on the system status, or whether the watering is ongoing or already finished. You also need the mobile app to register an account, view savings reports, and configure the settings. Further, all of the schedules and system settings are stored on the GreenIQ Cloud, which also handles status updates and software updates. Like the Rachio, GreenIQ also relies on sensors and the latest weather forecasts, to calculate a watering schedule on its own, helping you save water and keeping your plants alive. #ideate #innovate #inspire

Inventions That Changed The World 1.Battery The prehistoric battery dates back to the Parthian empire, which might be 2,000 years old. The old battery consisted of a clay jar filled with a vinegar solution, into which a copper cylinder surrounded iron rod was inserted. These batteries might have been used to electroplate silver. The inventor of the first electric battery is Alessandro Volta. He also laid the foundation of Electrochemistry. The mass production of the first electric battery began in 1802 by William Cruickshank. The history of batteries marked a remarkable date in 1859, with the invention of the first rechargeable battery based on lead acid by the French physician Gaston Planté. The Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) battery was introduced in 1899 by Waldemar Jungner. #ideate #innovate #inspire

WHAT TO DO WHEN NEXT IN TRAFFIC Nigerian road users experience horrendous traffic jams due to bad roads that force drivers to slow down all the time. Sometimes, the traffic situation results from road construction or repairs, during which vehicular movements become slow. It can be extremely frustrating at times, especially if you’ve had a long, bad day at work, or if you need to get somewhere quickly. According to Plentifun, while some prefer to keep struggling and budging in from here and there, others find it interesting enough to observe the behaviour of other people on the road. Of course, this is one way to pass your time while you are stuck in bad traffic. While in traffic, there are various things you can do to keep yourself busy, especially when you are trying not to sleep on the wheel. 1. Radio When in traffic, listening to a radio programme or music can help you feel at ease, you can decide to sing along to the music played on the radio and also move your body gently to the song, by doing this you are engaging yourself in something fun. Joining a conversation on the radio isn’t a bad idea, you can call into any programme of your choice and also contribute to whatever topic is being discussed 2. Phone According to Plentifun, Utilize this time to catch up with your friends with whom you haven’t spoken with for a long time. Thanks to the busy day at work, we miss answering some calls. This is a good time to call them back. If you stay away from your family, what can be a better time to catch up with your people back home. Talk to your mother or your partner. But make sure that you use your headset to make those calls so that you can keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel at all times. If the traffic is a standstill, you can log into your social media account, using your phone, chat or just surf either KingsChat or Twitter, check pictures on your phone, you can even decide to get creative, tweet about the traffic situation, if you are an active twitter user, you will be sure to get other people to engage you and probably share their experiences with you. 3. Book or Newspaper Reading a book or newspaper in traffic is another way to help relax your mind and get busy, Looking at our erratic schedule these days, we hardly find time to catch up on the world news or even read a book. If you are a voracious reader and always carry a book along, then a traffic jam is the best time to read a few pages, especially when you know that you are not going to move ahead for the next 10 – 15 minutes. Or if you prefer reading on your smartphone or Kindle, you can do that too. But make sure you stay focused on the traffic too! 4)While in traffic, you can keep yourself busy by preparing yourself for the day at work, and think about the goals that you have to accomplish on that day. 5) In traffic, nothing stops you from getting down from your car and doing some stretches, most especially if you want to prevent yourself from getting cramps and also falling asleep 6) Plentifun states that, while in traffic you can strike up a conversation with the person in the car next to you. You never know, you might just stumble upon your soulmate, or get a friend for a lifetime! #innovate #inspire #ideate
