SALVATION TESTIMONY BY DEACON BUCHI ATUONWU. On the 30th of December in the year 1992, I walked into the office of a young pastor of a predominantly youth ministry, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, agitated in my spirit. I had a few questions to ask him. I was not sure he or anybody else would have the answers but it was time for me to speak out to someone. I feared that I would explode if I didn’t. The turbulence within had become unbearable. The young lady at the church office reception (Miss Tolu Doherty) didn’t think it was such a good idea because the pastor was praying and preparing for an end-of-year all-night service for the following day. Disappointed, I turned and walked towards the exit but just then, I heard the lady call out: “Pastor says you should come in." The experiences and circumstances leading up to that day are difficult to abridge, but here’s my effort. At age 24, after a Masters degree in English language and alongside a doctorate in the same discipline, I had become a lecturer in the University of Lagos, a career which I combined strangely with disc-jockeying in a nightclub. I was also actively involved in the leadership of a cult group in the university. This and the deejay business ensured that violence and weed were never far from me. Hardly would I walk two blocks without looking back to see who was following. I lived dangerously. An inter-cult war on campus had left me hibernating in town where I waited for things to simmer. It was in my cooler at my brother’s house that his neighbour, Mrs (Pastor) A. T. Adewunmi came to invite his family to Christ Embassy Church. I tagged along. Church turned out to be a novel experience. I’d never seen so many young people in one single church congregation and even more striking was the fact that there were few or no elderly people there. The music was fantastic. A particular boy got my supreme attention. With his hands up in the air, he was lost in worship and on his face was a smile of deep contentment. These people obviously had something I needed desperately. Even in my misery I was enthralled by their joy. I didn’t hear much of what the pastor had to say that day. I couldn’t help wondering if he was related to Lionel Richie. The dominant image in my mind was that of the boy in the throes of worship. And so it was that I went in search of the pastor. As soon as I settled in the chair opposite Pastor Chris, I began to reel out countless questions. He was not in a hurry as I’d expected of one whose end-of-year service preparation had been interrupted. He answered all my questions FROM THE BIBLE! After about two hours of sojourning through the scriptures, convinced that the bible had the answers to all of life’s questions, I knelt down and asked him to pray for me. My joy knew no bounds. It was indescribable. It was joy and ‘peace that passeth all understanding!’ Later that night, I strolled from the campus gate to the lecturers’ quarters, unarmed but confident in the God who protects His own. Hallelujah!!! Boom💥 Boom💥 Boom💥 It's Deacon Buchi's birthday Today! MANAGEMENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT Time Management Achieving more results within fewer hours is an art that can be learned by discipline, involving breaking old habits and establishing new ones. Time management helps reduces working over-time or taking work home. To achieve this, you must learn and master the art of 1. Prioritising 2. Efficiency 3. Reducing time wastage Prioritising This means allocating your time and efforts appropriately beginning with the important and urgent issues. Practices that brings about poor prioritisation are ● Working on low priority jobs when a high priority job is waiting. ● Over supervising subordinates. ● Aiming for perfection when something less would be quite adequate. ● Reading documents in details when a scan would suffice. ● Doing work yourself which could or should be delegated. Remedial actions which guide prioritising includes 1. Planning your time: Locate a time frame to each objective, using a work schedule bearing in mind to achieve key objectives daily. Review each day's activities at the middle and end of the day. 2. Delegation: This involves initial time investment in training subordinates. Properly plan tasks that should be delegated and to whom it is delegated to bearing in mind that he/she is dependable. 3. Understand your over commitment: Know when to decline added tasks and avoid over commitment, it can reduce your productivity. To be continued..... #followPastorChris #NERegion #NWRegion

WHY YOU MUST CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS:- Your choice of friends matters to God, so you must be wise when choosing them, even in the church. Many young people unwittingly make friends with the wrong people—carnal Christians—right in the church. Now, this doesn’t mean you can’t have good, godly friends in church. There’re many of such friends, and it’s easy to know them. A good friend is anyone whose friendship brings you closer to God, inspires you to pray more, learn God’s Word more, and do the things of God more. Your association should encourage and increase your abilities to do more for God. That’s the kind of relationship you should have with others. If you have the wrong friends, you wouldn’t have much spiritual advancement. You’ll discover that you’re not as excited about going to church, studying your Bible, or sharing the gospel with others. That’s why you must carefully choose the friends you keep and the relationships you maintain, because they can either take you up or pull you down. Be sure your close associations are with Spirit-filled Christians with whom you can share God’s Word and inspire one another with the testimonies of your exploits for His Kingdom. 7 AMAZING WAYS TO BECOMING A BETTER LISTENER:- Listening is an important skill. We use it all the time – at work with our managers and co-workers, in presentations, in social settings, with our families....the list goes on. Here are 7 sure tips on how to be a better listener: 📝 1. Remove All Distractions:- If the person is trying to tell you something important, or share something personal, you should ideally stop what you are doing and give him/her your full attention. 📝 2. Be Present:- To be a good listener, you have to be present, which means not being preoccupied physically or mentally.Good listening requires you to clear your mind of other thoughts and focus on the person speaking; to pay attention to what’s being communicated now. 📝 3. Wait for the Person to Finish Speaking:- It’s good etiquette to let the other party finish what he/she wants to say, before you respond with your comments. 📝 4. Don’t Assume Anything:- An important part of listening is not to assume. When you assume, you automatically layer over what the person says with your presumptions, which makes it near impossible to have any meaningful conversation. 📝 5.Take Note of the facial expressions, tone of voice, body language, choice of words and so on to get a lot more out of the conversation. 📝 6. Clarify to ensure you got what the person is saying:- At every stage of the conversation, clarify to ensure you got the message right. This can be done by simply paraphrasing what he/she just said, in your own words. 📝 7. Ask Questions:- Questions are highly important in any conversation. Firstly, there are things which the person does not share that you can only uncover by asking questions. Secondly, questions lets you get more information about specific areas you are unclear about, such that you get a better picture of what the person is saying.  #cephzone3

THE BENEFITS OF TEAMWORK:- Teamwork can benefit you on both a personal and a collaborative level.  Let’s take a look at some of the benefits teamwork has to offer.  📍 Teamwork Increases Efficiency:  A collaborative effort from a group of people will help create a better workflow and allow tasks to get some faster.  Of course, each person has one thing that they are good at. By having a healthy and productive team, teamwork can allow each person to focus on what they do best. 📍 Teamwork Improves Performance: Performance goes hand in hand with efficiency. When you are able to focus on something that you love and you work best at, you will produce a greater product.  If you do not have to deal with other distracting tasks, you can focus on the certain skills that you excel at and use those to produce some amazing results. 📍 Teamwork Encourages Collaboration: In the workplace, it is important to understand how your work contributes to a whole. When there is efficient teamwork, it allows team members to take a look at everyone else’s positions and roles and seeing how everyone is essential to the end product. 📍 Teamwork Develops Trust: A strong team, like any relationship, needs a strong foundation of trust.  Trust is developed through communication in teams, while working on projects, and activity engaging one another to meet collective goals. 📍 Teamwork Reduces Stress:  Teamwork will ultimately reduce stress down the line and prevent burnout so that you can transition properly onto your next tasks. 📍 Teamwork Encourages Innovation: Brainstorming and thinking up new ideas with other team members can lead to great invention and ideas. THE PRAYER OF INTERCESSION Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD The Holy Spirit has an intercessory ministry which He carries out through believers. But there's also the intercessory ministry of the believer, which is quite different from the former. The Holy Spirit does carry out His intercessory ministry through you. The Lord may tell you to pray for someone or minister to someone by the leading of His Spirit. Sometimes, you may just be praying about personal issues and the Spirit of God suddenly begins to work within you, prompting you to intercede for an individual you never even planned to pray for. However, you don't always have to wait for that prompting before you pray for others. As a child of God, you have a responsibility to intercede for others. You can decide by yourself to pray for someone without the Holy Spirit necessarily prodding you to do so. When you intercede for others this way and in accordance with the Word, it will be heard by God in just the same way as though the Holy Spirit  inspired the words you spoke. It would just be as though the Holy Spirit Himself carried out that particular ministry. Through the prayer of intercession, God bestows on us opportunity, ability and inspiration to make great impact in our world. He has set us on the earth in these extraordinary times for the purpose of changing lives.  "For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14) Recognize that it's your priestly responsibility to intercede for others, and it's always a blessing to function in that office. Through prayer, we hold sway over satanic forces that seek to influence governments and nations for evil.  Circumstances move in favor of God's plans and purposes for His people as they did for Deborah and Barak of old: they fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought on their behalf against their adversaries. "DAILY NUGGETS Maintain a Disciplined Prayer Life “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word” (Acts 6:4) Christians must strive at having effective prayer lives. Prayer is not only a fellowship, it’s also a labour. That’s why I think it’s ridiculous to think we should pray only when we feel like. Then again, because prayer doesn’t appeal to our minds and senses, our bodies and minds may not enjoy praying and can even rebel against it. Many times we put off praying till the end of the day but the time we’re through with the activities of the day, we’re tired and drowsy and our thoughts start wondering while we’re praying. This is where the labour comes into prayer, this is where the fight is, but it’s not a fight with devils or men, neither is it a fight with God. It’s a fight to keep yourself on track against the dictate of the flesh. This takes training and so you must be resolved to stick with your personal prayer schedule. Some Christians find it almost impossible to do this simply because they’ve not been able to discipline their flesh. They go to work everyday of the week without ever considering getting to work late, much less not going at all. If you can train your mind and body to do this then you can train yourself to pray regularly and on time too. The problem is that too many aren’t willing to make such a sacrifice for their prayer lives, and that’s because they don’t know the importance of prayer. But when trouble comes, they’re the first to cry, “Please, pray for me!” Don’t depend on ’emergency prayers’, consistency is the key. Make a fresh commitment to your personal prayer life today. There are so many things that will compete with your prayer time, but there’s so much you can achieve on your knees. So, stay connected to God, and maintain a disciplined prayer life. ===HOME CARE === 10 Ways to Keep Your House Smelling Fresh Everyone likes walking into a nice clean, fresh smelling home. How a home smells is one of the first things a person notices coming from outside so it is nice to know some extra things that help keep a home smelling nice and fresh.  Here are some hints below. 1. Air out your house – as weather permits open windows to let in fresh air.  In general, try to leave windows open a little so that you are always letting in some fresh air. 2. Use scented cleaning products – when you are house cleaning, use cleaning products that have a nice smell to them; then, not only will a thorough cleaning remove residues, etc. that contain odor, but the cleaning will leave a nice smell. 3. Flowers – fresh flowers are a nice way to keep your home smelling fresh and clean.  In addition to keeping your home smelling fresh and clean, flowers can be a nice way to decorate your home. 4. Use air fresheners – experiment until you find one that works good for you.  Try natural fresheners made from real citrus fruits that come in recyclable spray cans. 5. Where there are stronger odors, place a bowl of white vinegar in the area of the room where the odor is strongest.  After approximately 24 hours the odor will be almost unnoticeable and within another 24 hours it should be entirely gone. 6. Keep your oven clean.  If you think something might spill during cooking, use a pan to catch the drippings or wipe clean as soon as you are finished cooking.Use your exhaust fan when you cook, especially when frying food. 7. Downsize your kitchen garbage can so that things don’t have time to produce bad odor.  Most things can otherwise go into the garburator or go into your recycling bin. 8. Keep pets clean – make sure to keep pets well bathed and clean.  Make sure that you have an adequate schedule to clean out litter.  Clean up pet accidents as soon as possible. 9. Vacuuming – vacuum regularly; sprinkle carpet deodorizer or baby powder lightly on carpet or area rugs before vacuuming. 10. Keep basement dry and properly vented to prevent moisture and poor ventilation from producing a bad smell. #HomeCareTips #cephzone3

CHRISTIANITY IS "FULL-TIME!" by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD. Philippians 2:16 - "Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain." Live each day with the consciousness that you are first and foremost a Christian. Christianity is not something you do; rather, it's who you are. For example, your gender isn't something you qualify for; it's who you are. A true Christian is someone who has discovered his true reason for living. Where you are or what you're doing right now is not what really matters; there's nothing you are in this world that will be forever. Whatever you are involved in now is your vehicle for reaching the world. For example, if you are a student, you're in that school first of all as a Christian, before you're a student. When you have this consciousness, you'll live each day as a full-time minister of the gospel of Christ. When I was a student, I was actively involved in soul winning and many of my colleagues asked me, " Are you going into full-time ministry?". My response to them was, " I am already a full-time minister of the gospel!" I knew I was just a part-time student and a full-time minister of the gospel. Everyday, when you wake up, tell yourself, "I am first of all a Christian, and I function today with that consciousness." When you practice what I'm sharing with you, life will become purposeful, because all your energy and strength will be channelled into one thing: leading people to Christ. Paul the apostle said, "...woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel. ( 1 Corinthians 9:16). It was his personal conviction, for he understood his calling into the Christian life. If the essence of your  education or career is not about reaching people for Jesus, it's not valuable in heaven. Whatever you are involved in is your opportunity to reach the world for Jesus. That's why Christianity is full-time. Source: Rhapsody of Realities Topical Compendium #followpastorchris #cephzone3

DAILY NUGGETS KEEP THE RIGHT FRIENDS Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc. D.D. “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”(1 Corinthians 15:33) You must be careful in choosing friends, even in the house of God. It's very easy to make friends in church who are not godly. Are you surprised to hear that? Well, the fact remains that there are ungodly Christians and many unwittingly make friends with them in church. Those you run with or move with in church matter because they can either lift you up or pull you down. So how do you know the right friends? Anyone whose relationship with you brings you closer to God is good for you. Through your association with them, you pray more, you learn the Word of God more and you do things of God more. Now, I'm not just referring to a numerical increase in the activities you're engaged in but also your ability to do them better. This is the right kind of relationship. The right friends don't just help by their advice, because they may not even know better than you do. The fact is, your relationship with them causes you all to gather around the Word.  Another benefit of keeping the right company is that such relationships help you to think right and develop the right character. But when you keep the wrong company, you won't experience spiritual advancement. Soon, you'll discover that you're not as excited to be in church services, study your Bible and evangelize any more. The colour goes out of you and that brightness of the Spirit disappears. You're no longer acquainted with the move of the Spirit and you can't even find the love of God manifested in your life anymore, all because you're with the wrong folks and have become one of them. I counsel you today, be careful of the folks you keep as friends and the relationships you maintain. Take out times to assess your friends, whether they've been a blessing to you or otherwise; then make the right decision. #cephzone3 #followpastorchris

THE WORLD DOESN’T KNOW HIM... During the ISM Ministers Network Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, the esteemed Man of God, Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome made a profound statement. He said "Not everyone can recognise God. That is why so many people miss Him and what He's doing. At the garden, God was even arrested by men and they didn't recognise Him. God was arrested by the very people who were praying to Him daily!!" If men, who prayed to God 3 times a day, couldn't recognise Him, how would they recognise Him in a man. If men didn't think twice to arrest, mock, ridicule, try and, ultimately, crucify God, how do you expect them to see God in your Pastor? If men called God a deceiver and an impostor; If they accused God of being used by the devil to heal, deliver and work miracles, how can they see God in your Pastor's miracles? If men can't identify God when He stood before them, in flesh and blood, how would you expect them to recognise Him clothed in your Pastor? But for us, it should be different. We are not mere men. We are not the 11 disciples who walked with the Master yet perceived Him through the eyes of the Jews. We are like Peter who recognised, by revelation, that the Master is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Recognise God in Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. Recognise God in your church Pastor. Do not join the world to minimise, denigrate, diminish your church Pastor and our Pastor. They do not know God but you do for you have His Spirit (1st Corinthians 2:6-11). #easter #april #passionweek #YearOfFlourishing

I remember easter 1988. It was my very first campmeeting with pastor chris at the university of benin. Then he was known as brother christian, and the school fellowship was called "youth for christ". Although i was not in the university yet, i was was preparing to write my jamb exams and then i attended the campmeeting. It was a whole new experience. I was amazed at our man of God, pastor chris, because he didnt look human to me! He was in the spirit. He was laying hands on everyone and they were all falling down. He himself could hardly stand. He was half carried by the other student pastoral leaders as he laid hands. He was soo intense. I made up my mind right there that I was going to follow him. After the ministrations, I went to sleep in the student hostels and I dreamt of angels and of the second coming of christ. I woke up with this song in my spirit.."never the same again. Oh oh, I won't be the same again, from the moment I met jesus, new life begin for me, no! Never the same again". Since then, it's been from glory to glory by the Spirit of God. It's 29yrs since that easter. Today, I am a pastor with family and a fruitful ministry that is fulfilling God's purpose. I am so grateful to my Man of God for impacting me with his life. I am more committed to the gospel of our Lord Jesus christ today than I was 29yrs ago. I am so fulfilled doing my Father's will. Most of all, I thank my King of Glory, the Lord of lords, the soon coming king, the name above all names, my reward and my desire for giving me this life to live. Thank you my commander in chief for trusting me and healing me. Thank you for giving me the higher life to live. I love you. You died and rose up for me, that I may live unto you forever. Thank you my Holy Spirit. You are my closest. ...I love you. Thank you.
