An Entirely New Life The term “born again” isn’t a religious cliché, which connotes turning over a new leaf. When you ask some Christians how they know they’re born again, some would reply, “I know I’m born again, because the bad things I used to do, I do them no more. I’ve changed my ways, and now, I behave differently.” Being born again is much more than that. What you receive when you’re born again is an entirely new life. There’s no such thing as “The bad things I used to do, I do them no more,” because the person who did those things is dead. He doesn’t exist anymore. When you received Christ into your life, something actually happened: your spirit was recreated. You were born of the Word of God and of the Spirit of God. You now have the life, nature and character of God. And when a man has the life, nature and character of God, he can only live like God. So, being born again is actually receiving the God-nature; becoming an associate of the God-kind. Your old life or nature isn’t suspended; it’s dead; you’ve come up a new man; a new species of being; one that never existed before; one without a past. In the presence of God, everything you were before you were born again, and everything you did before you were born again has no record. This isn’t a promise. This is a statement of fact in the Word. Live Above The Systems The life the Master lived here on earth was so impressive. Jesus was far removed from the decadence of the world, the penury around Him and the corruption and failure of His society. He lived far above, and beyond the government and systems of the day when He walked the earth. We don’t find Jesus interfering with their politics or trying to do something about their economy. In other words, He didn’t bring some strange or heavenly currency into their system, yet He was never limited by money. Money was His slave. He was self-sufficient. Whatever He required, He didn’t need to call out to heaven; He brought it forth from within. This is the life that He’s given us: He’s made us self-sufficient, to function above and beyond the systems of this world. He said you’re in the world, but not of the world. That means you’re not to be ruled, dominated or influenced by the systems, that is the crippling and corrupting influences in today’s world. You play by a different set of rules. Many around you may be influenced, and provoked to compromise as a result of the corruption in today’s world, but be like Jesus. Be independent of circumstances. Think and talk like Paul, who said, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). In the eleventh verse, while in prison, he wrote: “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content (independent of circumstances) ” (Philippians 4:11). He was self-sufficient. Furthermore, he said, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). Refuse to be enslaved by the system of this world; live above and beyond it. That’s the only way. Learn God’s Word and operate a law that’s higher than the law that runs in the systems of this world. Job 22:29 says, “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up….” Keep your head up high and maintain your faith-composure. When it seems like you’re beginning to feel the pressure, don’t give in; keep doing the Word. Shut yourself in and talk the Word. Hallelujah!
PRAYER I live above the economy and economics of this world. I’m immune to the hardships, corruption and decadence that ravage the lives of men. I live in the Word, and therefore, in victory and triumph always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
CONFESSION I’m strengthened, fortified, and energized for victory, success and excellence through the power of God’s Word, and the might of the Spirit. I’m ordained unto a life of fruitfulness and productivity, flourishing in the courts of the Lord, bringing Him honour, and bearing abundant fruits unto Him in righteousness. Blessed be God!
CONFESSION I go forth today, in victory and dominion over Satan, and his cohorts of darkness, and the circumstances of life. I experience the power and supernatural grace of God today, as I make manifest the savour of the knowledge of Christ, in every place, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Soul Winning: Our Conscious Lifestyle In Luke 19:10, Jesus said, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” ; this is the summary of His mission on earth. Shortly before He ascended, He commissioned the Church to preach the Gospel to all men that they might receive eternal life. This is the ministry of reconciliation, which has been committed to our trust. Every Christian has a ministry to fulfil in soul winning; it’s our conscious lifestyle. We’re called to turn men to righteousness; to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God. We’re in the last days, and the Lord is doing a quick work; He’s working with and through His Church to make His righteousness known, and establish His Kingdom in the earth and in the hearts of men. We’re His partners in soul winning and world evangelism. Don’t be complacent or wary about soul winning and evangelism. The Blessedness Of Giving One of the most profound principles in the Word of God that guarantees continuous increase in finances is the principle of giving. Not too many people are as excited to give, as they’re to receive, meanwhile the promised blessing isn’t to the receiver but to the giver. Jesus said, “…It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). 2 Corinthians 9:8 gives us clear insight about the blessedness of the giver. ... Though the foregoing verses are about finances, Jesus in His sermon on the Mount was more general: “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38). He said “Give!” Whatever good thing you desire in your life, sow the seed of it into the lives of others and it’ll be multiplied in your own life. ... Your giving to the Lord connects you and everything that concerns you with blessings that aren’t only for today, but for tomorrow and for all time. Each time you have the opportunity to give, be excited. Learn more from today's Rhapsody. www.rhapsodyofrealities.org
PRAYER I believe in my heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, and I affirm that He’s Lord of my life. I live in the consciousness of all that the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ brought to me. Health, wealth, eternal life, prosperity are all mine in Christ. My life is a manifestation of God’s glory and grace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Righteousness Speaks The phrase “the righteousness which is of faith” in the verse above is a rather interesting one. It’s rendered in the original Greek as “the ‘of faith’ righteousness,” thus, giving personality to the word, “righteousness”; and that righteousness, he says, “speaks.” “The ‘of faith’ righteousness” speaks. So, righteousness talks; it doesn’t keep quiet. Often, we say, Christianity is for talkers; we speak righteousness, just as we speak wisdom. The righteousness of God is the truth of God; it’s the reality concerning any situation. So when we affirm the Word, we’re speaking righteousness, we’re speaking God’s language of faith. ... If you’d confess or affirm the same things that God has said about you in His Word, they’d become real in your life. You ought to, on the basis of what God has said, declare, “I’m sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I’m up to any task. I produce excellence and works of righteousness, because Christ is my ability and sufficiency.” That’s speaking the righteousness of God, the rightness of God about who you are, and what you can do in Christ.
CONFESSION I’m born of the incorruptible seed of the Word of God; therefore, my origin is in the Word. I stay connected to the Word, which programmes me for the glorious life in Christ. I succeed in all things, fulfilling my destiny in God, and riding on the high places of the earth by the Word of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
The Reality Of Salvation Our opening verse lets us know how salvation is made real in our lives; it’s by declaring the lordship of Jesus over your life. Someone can “believe” that Jesus is the Son of God, and still go to hell. To believe is not enough. The Bible says even the devils also believe; they believe so much that they tremble, but that doesn’t mean they are, or can be, saved: “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble” (James 2:19). If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He died for you, and that God raised Him from the dead, you must also confess His lordship over your life; otherwise, you’re not saved. A man’s good works won’t save him either. I know it’s Christmas time where many, including non-Christians, express goodwill and are generally kind to others. Nevertheless, salvation from God isn’t as a result of your good works; it’s by the grace of Jesus Christ: ... Receiving salvation is the greatest miracle of all. Once you believe in Jesus and confess that He’s Lord of your life, you receive the life and nature of God. In that split second, you’re awakened to the fatherhood of God; you become a legal and vital child of God; an associate of the God-kind, superior to Satan. Learn more from today's Rhapsody.
