DAILY NUGGETS Learn To Serve And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many (Matthew 20:27-28). The Lord Jesus was the epitome of selfless service. Though He was the Son of God, He humbled himself to man’s level and gave His life as a ransom for the whole world. Now, He says “your attitude must be like my own, for I the messiah did not come to be served but to serve and to give my life as a ransom” (Matthew 20:27-28 TLB). That means we ought to copy the Master’s attitude of being service conscious. We shouldn’t desire for others to serve us, or try to lord over others; rather, we should be ready to serve both the Lord and those for whom He died. As you mature in Christ, the Lord expects you to get rid of the “me-first” attitude. You should come to the place where you take up responsibilities. You shouldn’t be content with merely being a member in a local assembly, having others visit you and check up on your welfare every week. You should desire to grow out of that level and join in helping to follow up and build up new believers. Never be the one to complain when you’re asked to render service in the house of God. Always be enthusiastic about serving the Lord, and doing things for others, not necessarily expecting to be praised or applauded by men. Do whatever you do as unto the Lord, for the Bible says “For God is not unjust so that He is unmindful of your labour and of the love which you have manifested towards Himself in having rendered services to His people and in still rendering them” (Hebrews 6:10 WNT). Be sure that the Lord will bless, promote and exalt you in due season, as you learn to serve. #cephzone2 #follow@PastorChris #vision400areality #noflourishingwithoutasoul #IMCC2017 #countinguptoimcc2017 #ExodusmusicconcertPortHarcourt
