Prayer at 12noon and 10pm (Local/GMT) - Wed March 16 There's healing power in the Word. Irrespective of your physical condition, there's enough power in the Word to put you over. Learn more in today's Rhapsody or download from http://rhapsodyofrealities.org 2 Timothy 1:6-7 tells us: "Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind". In both 15min sessions at 12noon and 10pm (Local/GMT), we'll pray fervently in the spirit, and in accordance with this scripture, stirring up God's special gifts imparted to us through the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Affirm that you are fulfilling God's divine purpose for your life with boldness, courage, and power, doing those good works which God predestined for you [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that you should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for you to live]. Affirm that the Greater One lives in you, and He's greater than he that's in the world. Hallelujah. God bless you.
Growing Up OR Growing Older How often have you heard someone say, "If you really care about me, you will accept me the way I am". Do you think like that? Do you chafe under the scrutiny of change of your behaviour and/or personality and character? Take a moment to ponder these things. Your parents didn't want to accept you the way you are so you were enrolled in school. They also taught you to bathe, clean your teeth, launder your clothes and practice other fundamentals of personal hygiene. In school, you learnt to read, write and use cutlery correctly. You also learnt how to do research and do homework. Likely, you got schooled into having a good handwriting and interpersonal skills. Imagine if your parents and teachers had accepted you for who you were or how you were. You might have been the most illiterate, obnoxious, uncouth person that has ever lived. As assiduous as our parents and teachers were, there are many things we never learnt. I've met the most pleasant and engaging people with impeccable manners who are suffering so much in life. Not from ill health. But from a broken life. Nothing works for them. Gifted and broke. Wealthy but alone. Hardworking but ignored. Loving but rejected. All through life, we've learnt many things...Unfortunately, our parents/teachers/pastors/friends etc could only teach us only that which they themselves knew. Sometimes, they didn't know enough, most often, they knew the wrong information. So most people grew older either not knowing enough or knowing the wrong things, in both cases, leading to a life not worth repeating. In essence, we grew older but we didn't grow up. The evidence is rife: a good mother but a lousy wife. A great boss but a terrible husband. A first rate friend but a woeful father. A fine Pastor but a broke man. A gifted programmer but a poor man. A gifted singer with absolutely zero record sales. A wealthy actor but no friends or family. The litany is long. We owe ourselves one important thing and that is an opportunity...at least one chance to really be alive. Happy. Whole. Laughing. Buoyant. The way forward is very simple. Many Years ago (in 1990), I heard Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome make a very profound statement that changed my life. It was an epiphany to me. I had just relocated from Benin City to Lagos. I had just graduated from the Law faculty of the University of Benin and had come to the Nigerian Law School in Lagos to complete my law training in advocacy. The first Sunday that I walked into church, Pastor Chris was teaching a series titled "Success, Prosperity and Abundance". Then I heard him say these seminal words "You will be the same person you are today, in 5 years time, but for the people you meet and the books you read!" I didn't want to be the same TT Edun of 1990 come 1995. That would be a disaster. Then I understood a key principle of growth: The influencing of my mind causes either growth or retardation. I must change my mind regularly for the better or become a retard. I am still on this principle today. I have my own copy of #thePowerOfYourMind. This is an essential resource to change the TT Edun of 2016 into a 2026 vintage now. Since I got my copy of the book, I've also gotten me a brand new notebook to record mind management exercises I must do. Also, I'm noting actions I must take and activities that I must embark upon going forward. The Power of Your Mind isn't just a good book to read. It’s a manual for whole life living. It's difficult to read it in one sitting. It is life. You owe yourself this chance to grow up. Don't accept yourself the way you are. Don't just keep on growing older. Grow up. #YearOfSpreading #thePowerOfYourMind #midWest4 #ceAsaba #MVZ4
