BRINGING THE GOSPEL OF HOPE TO THE SURVIVORS OF CYCLONE IDAI IN CHIMANIMANI A few weeks ago in Chimanimani, one of the suburbs in the Eastern part of Zimbabwe, was affected by the mysterious Cyclone Idai. Hundreds of lives were lost, thousands were displaced, buildings were washed away. The verbal accounts from the first hand survivors of the cyclone elaborate that, it was one normal night as any other night, that it began to rain and in the deepest part of the night, the rain was a flood and it swept away people, buildings, cars & everything! Waking up to large boulders on top of what used to be a lively community, it amplified the trauma of the survivors that managed to escape this unannounced danger. Just trying to imagine how these hundreds tried to live, tried to rescue themselves and their families adds to alot of questions without answers in the hearts and minds of those still around. Till now these mysterious boulders are still there, as Our Christ Embassy Southern Africa Zone 5 Zonal Pastor, Pastor Dr Ruth Musarurwa with partners and leaders arrived there under the auspices of Chris Oyakhilome Foundation with Inner City Mission & Bible Missions with relief materials both spiritual and physical, assisting the survivors to have new pictures of comfort, hope, love & light in their hearts and minds. Conducting counselling sessions, medical assistance & bringing back life to the society of Chimanimani in this dire circumstances & state they went through. Special thank you to Our Man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome for the hope relief to Chimanimani, InnerCity Missions, Bible Missions & immense relief materials donations contribution from Christ Embassy Cape Town Church under Pastor Karen Victor.
