#vmcstories The Mason Hill Informal Settlement in Pietermaritzburg Suburbs within South Africa has over 200 adults among its population. Following a needs assessment done by the VMC PMB Chapter, some health challenges were identified; including difficulty in assessing formal health care facilities and inadequate sanitary infrastructures. As part of our mission to provide sustainable health care solutions for our beneficiaries, the VMC PMB team mobilised their volunteers and carried out house to house visitation to promote good health seeking behaviours and improved personal and environmental hygiene among the residents. They also provided free medical consultations, screening tests and treatment for Hypertension, Febrile illness and other common ailments unique to temporary settlements. 17 souls were won to Christ and copies of Christian literature were made available to all present. TCIF FIRST RESPONDER INITIATIVE: Beneficiary Testimonials My name is Akintoye. I'm an official of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC). I'm grateful for the First Aid course from Trauma Care International Foundation. Sometime ago, I happen to witness an accident along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, and sincerely I didn't know how to help the lady who was bleeding severely. But now, with this training, I don't think any life will be lost anymore because I'm equipped with the right knowledge. Thank you very much Trauma Care International Foundation. #Everylifecounts #FirstResponderNetwork #FirstAidsaveslives #CPR #RecoveryPosition
