ℹ Insight with Pastor Uyi WHEN THE CHURCH PRAYS EXACTLY SEVEN YEARS AGO today, Boko Haram detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (bomb) at Christ Embassy Suleja, where I was the Group Pastor. Acts 12:5 KJV tells us "Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him." A week before that day, our great Man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, had led the LoveWorld Nation in sessions of prayers. Christ Embassy Suleja was at the time the fastest growing church in the area. The Boko Haram insurgents had been operating in Suleja almost with impunity. They had succeeded in bombing a couple of churches with many casualties. I recall that I was their principal target. That Sunday morning as I got to the Church premises, some unknown young men had tried to hang around my car, but our church security dispatched them. Seeing as they could not gain access to my car, they proceeded eventually to plant their bomb between two of our brethen's cars packed along the street. But thanks be unto God, during the worship session, a brother who owned one of the cars suddenly 'felt' he did not lock his car properly. So, he left during the on-going worship to lock his car. On getting to his car, he discovered it was properly locked, but found a plastic bag between his car and another. He alerted security. Our security personnel, opening the bag and realising that it was a bomb, immediately notified me. I came out to the street, instructed that the area be cleared, signalled to passersby to stop their movement, and then called the Nigerian Police. In retrospect, I believe the Boko Haram agents saw our swiftness and organization in handling the situation, such that before the Police arrived and out of frustration, they detonated the bomb. I was only five metres away from the explosion that went off. Glory to God! Not a single member of our church was hurt or harmed in anyway and no life was lost. I simply went back inside the church hall, calmed everyone and we had a glorious service, still. This victory was obviously credited to the Holy Ghost and our dear Man of God, Pastor Chris, who evidently had heard from God's Spirit a week before and organized the church to pray. NOW, THIS SAME PASTOR CHRIS, weeks before now, organized the church globally to pray for Nigeria and her elections, and the Church is still praying. Hallelujah. Thus, we are confident that the devil is defeated and all is well with us in Nigeria. God's will shall be done. Amen. So, on the 23rd of February, 2019 and 9th of March, 2019 every of our brethren in Nigeria should go out peacefully and vote. Remember, you are a vital part of the system. Doing nothing changes nothing. God bless you. God bless Nigeria. ⏩Click here for News Coverage on that attempted bombing: https://youtu.be/WbXhPeU8Q8o For more INSIGHT with Pastor Uyi, See You in a Fortnight. #KINGINGwithPastorUyi FOLLOW THIS SUPERUSER ACCOUNT
STAY ON THE MOUNTAIN TOP Spiritual maturity is taking place in us when we have to accommodate, overlook or simply cover others' inadequacies, instabilities, false steps, slips and slides. God's love exercised in and through us covers a multitude of wrongs both intended or not. You know you are growing when you can quickly forgive a suffered wrong, an injustice or misjudgment, refuse to hold or nurse a grudge, keep malice, withdraw from executing a personal vendetta or be Christian in unChristian circumstances. No trial or challenge comes to stay. I love something Jesus often says," And it came to pass"; David said "though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death", which means the valley of difficulty is a temporary place and knowing this you are not going to settle there; you are going to keep moving upward and forward in faith keeping things in perspective. Jesus knowing the temptation that Peter was going to face, prayed that he's faith failed not. Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane prayed in tears that were like great drops of blood having in view the brutal death he was about to experience and right there God sends an angel to strengthen him. You may be in your garden of Gethsemane right now but like Jesus you've got to keep praying, believing and trusting God's plan and purpose for your life that all your circumstances will surely end in a win - win for you. On the road to Calvary as Jesus went bearing the load of His cross, he falls several times showing to us that we may not be strong all the time, but His strength is made perfect in our weakness. In our weakness His strength manifests showing others that we are indeed not alone. Sometimes the weight of life's challenges may compel you to your knees in steadfast prayers. Don't try to get up prematurely, Paul comforts us through the scriptures that we should, " Let this hope burst forth within you releasing a continual joy. Don't give up in a time of trouble but commune with God at all times . Take constant interest in the needs of God's beloved people and respond by helping them. And eagerly welcome people as guests into your home. Speaking blessing, not cursing over those who reject and persecute you. Celebrate with those who celebrate , and weep with those who grieve". Romans 12:12- 15 (TPT) Paul stresses the importance of living together in a spirit of harmony (not strife) being as mindful as another's worth as we are our own. We are cautioned not to live with a lofty mindset, thinking we are too important to serve others yet demanding that we be served. Instead we must be willing to render service in humility whether we are recognised, acknowledge or rewarded for it or not. We stay on the mountain top when we never hold a grudge or try to get even but plan our lives around the noblest ways to benefit and help others doing our best to live in peace with others regardless. When we are obsessed with hatred or dislike for anyone, avenging ourselves or getting even with those who persecute, despise and forsake us in times of need or personal interest; we become prone to what my Pastor calls, " the perils of the soul which may even lead a Chistian to hell". Staying high on the most high requires us to constantly take that the high road , apply the higher law of love and live the higher life leaving vengeance to God's righteous justice. Has God not said," Vengeance is mine and I will repay?". Always pray more in season and out of season; especially when all's going well or not, so that through the Holy Spirit living in the quarters of your heart you are constantly driven and inspired to defeat evil with good. Sometimes the voice of the accuser your adversary may nag you with thoughts that you are weak, naive or stupid to allow others take advantage of you or get away with their actions. You must silence him immediately by saying like Jesus, " Get thee hence Satan thou savourest not the things that be of God!" You have nothing of yourself in me! I chose to walk in the love of God pleasing Him and being pleasing in His sight". "I will not be hateful, vengeful or resentful. The love of God is shed abroad in my heart in abundance by the Holy Spirit. I am motivated, inspired and driven by God's love and His mercy and extend this to others around me!" When you speak these words aloud you defeat Satan and his evil thoughts and deny them of their power to influence you to despise, hate on or dislike another. However sometimes in a precarious situation you may feel all alone, abandoned and ostracized crying out to the Lord just as Jesus did on the cross of Calvary," Father! Father why hast thou forsaken me" but Jesus did not get a response. Sometimes heaven may seem to go silent and it appears that the more you pray the more intense or worse the situation seems to get. But do not tire, be weary or give up, some times things get worse before they get better. That's the moment that you must persist in prayers, worship, praise and thanksgiving. Your victory is sure just like Deborah, for whom the stars in their courses fought against Cisera and the battle was won in the heavenlies; resonating in the earth in Deborah and Israel's favour.
