Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the 'naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward. Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am...' PRAYER AND FASTING - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29) Sometimes as Christians, we misunderstand God’s order of things. God is a God of order, and order gives meaning to things. For example, all around the world, people tend to confuse the order and say, “fasting and prayer,” instead of “prayer and fasting.” Prayer comes before fasting in the Scriptures. Not understanding the right order may account for the reason many people fast without praying, which is largely a waste of time and effort. The emphasis should be on praying. It’s a call to prayer, and because you’re praying, you’re consciously staying away from eating. The fast is on, because you’re praying, not because you’re not eating. Acts 13:2 says, “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said….” Notice the order: they ministered to the Lord and fasted. How do you minister to the Lord? It’s in worship, prayer, praise and thanksgiving. The focus was on ministering to the Lord, and because of this, they fasted. Then the Lord spoke to them after they had prayed. The New Year is just around the corner, and in preparing for it, you must spend time to pray and fast. Make sure you participate fully, bearing in mind the purpose of the fast: praying; ministering to the Lord. Some people occupy themselves with various irrelevant activities during prayer and fasting, so they don’t feel the hunger until it’s time to break the fast, no; it’s not that way. Aside from praying, the only activities you should indulge in and encourage are such that would further inspire you to pray, such as studying and meditating on the Word. Take your Bible and some Christian books to read, and messages to listen to or watch on your devices. Put the TV off, and cast the newspapers and magazines aside. Possibly, put off your phone or turn off the network; you don’t need any distraction. If you desire specific outstanding results in the coming year that only the anointing can produce, you need to do this: Spend quality time to speak in tongues and position yourself for achievements and significant exploits, not just in the coming year, but in the years ahead. PRAYER FOR YOU Blessed Lord, I thank you for all that you’ve prepared for me in the coming year. My spiritual antenna is raised to hear and receive your instructions, guidance, and wisdom that’ll propel me in the path of greatness that you’ve ordained for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Don’t be Like Lot’s Wife, Pastor Warns Delegates Without total devotion and commitment to the gospel, distractions will set in, and with that comes doubt. This was the submission of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome during his teaching after the opening ceremony of the International Pastor’s and Partners Conference as he admonished delegates on the importance of focusing on Jesus. Taking the delegates through the deep secrets and insights into the word of God, Pastor noted that serving God becomes laborious without total devotion to the Lord. He reminded them that serving God has responsibilities and it is not possible to serve God without total devotion. "Let the Lord be the center of everything you do. Seek to please Him, not yourself. Make that personal decision how you want to serve God", he said. Using the story of Lot’s Wife to highlight the impediments that comes from halfhearted commitment, he warned them not to look back in their devotion to the Lord. "Don't look back on this journey. Don't compare yourself to your non-ministry friends. The ministry didn't cost you anything but it gave you everything. Don't think of the earthly things you would have acquired. Remember Lots wife. She could not be saved even when God sent angels to save them". He added, noting that to fully appreciate the God, one’s heart, time and resources must be totally devoted to him.
The Gains of Being at the IPPC Are Innumerable The Evening Session of the first day of the ongoing International Pastors and Partners Conference of Loveworld nation was glorious. Everything points to what the President of Loveworld Inc, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome (PhD) said earlier in the day that for participating in the meetings alone, one is already blessed. But beyond being blessed, delegates witnessed the healing anointing at work as Pastor Chris prepared their minds for a week of inexplicable glory. Later in the day, a Strategy Session on Compliance was anchored by the Zonal Pastor of Christ Embassy Lagos Zone 2, Pastor Emeka Eze while Pastor Kayode Akinwolemiwa, the Regional Pastor of the Middle East Region, exhorted on taking Heed to oneself and to the flock that God has made them overseers. These sessions was briskly followed up by the teaching of Reverend Tom Amenkhianan, Member, Central Executive Council of Loveworld Inc and also a Regional Pastor. He shared on Evangelism, The Supreme Task of the Church. The 2019 IPPC really teed off on a very strong note, and from all indications, delegates are well prepared to receive as much as they can.
