21 DAYS PRAYER AND FASTING Day 15, 6pm PrayerGuide: Pray for the children and young people in our midst. Psalm 71:17 – “O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works". 1. Let's bear up in prayer, children and young people in our midst. Declare that they be shielded from all evil and wicked devices of the enemy, rescued from wicked and unreasonable men, protected on every side, undistracted by negative peer pressures, but growing up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, fulfilling their purpose in Christ. Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it". 2. Pray also for their parents, teachers and minders, that they be guided in God’s wisdom to lead them in the way that they should go, causing them to be excellent in every way, to the glory of God. Declare that they are filled with the ability to communicate relevance and value to them. 3. Thank God for the conclusion of the first edition of a most successful Teens Summer Camp. Declare that the seed of the Word of God that they have received from the summer camp will grow mightily and prevail in their lives. Also declare that they have the ability to resist peer pressures and shine as the light of the world, living their God-given destinies with conviction of Who and whose they are and with a strong consciousness that they are in the terminal generation. #CEPHZONE1 #21DAYSPNF

QUESTION AND ANSWER ON FASTING Question – Neo Daniel Diphaha (South Africa): Hi, Pastor Chris, I would like to know the rules of fasting. When am I suppose to fast and how do I determine the duration of my fast? How does fasting help me in my prayers? Answer: Well, uh [laughs], the rules of fasting…there are no specific rules of fasting as it were, because there are different kinds of fasting like the Bible shows us. There are different types of fasting. And, you can be led by the Spirit to fast, and when he tells you to fast, then you have to fast; and, he will tell you how long you should fast. But, apart from that, fasting in itself helps us to get our spirits attuned to God. Fasting helps us position ourselves spiritually to hear God – to listen to Him. See, fasting doesn’t get God to listen to us; it gets us to listen to God [see?]. It’s a spiritual exercise also; it’s another…it’s a form of self-denial, where you’re able to subdue your flesh, subdue your appetites, and then you can listen to voice of the Spirit of God within you. So, that’s why fasting is important. You said “how does it help you in prayer?” That’s the way it helps you in prayer. It helps your focus; it strengthens your resolve, when you pray and fast. So, that’s why it’s important that we fast. And, then, you said, “when am I supposed to fast and how do I determine the duration?” I just told you. The Spirit of God can lead you…He can lead you as to how to fast. Apart from that, you may belong in a group, like in a church, when we all say we’re all going to fast at a certain period, you’ve got to join; that means the Spirit of God is guiding all of us at that time to fast, and you also fast. So, you can fast as a spiritual exercise of as self-denial. You can fast as an act of faith on your part, and say you’re determining at this time [that] you just want to stay off food and pray. So, this really has to do with you; and, then the duration also depends on you; the witness will be within your spirit. [If] this is a personal fast, the witness will be within your spirit. Apart from that, when we have a corporate fast in a group, in a cell, in a fellowship, or in a church, we fast according to the duration that has been stipulated by the leaders, because that’s also one of the ways that the Holy Spirit leads us.  #CEPHZONE1 #THEHAPPYCHURCH #21DAYSPNF

THE PRAYER OF INTERCESSION; Pastor Chris Oyakhilome “But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts…”(Jeremiah 27:18). There is an intercessory ministry of the Holy Spirit, which He carries out through the believer but there is also the intercessory ministry of the believer, and the two are quite different. The Holy Spirit does carry out His intercessory ministry through us. God may tell you to pray for someone or minister to someone by the leading of His Spirit. You may just be praying about some other things and suddenly the Spirit of God begins to work within you and you find yourself interceding for an individual you never planned to pray for. However, you don't always have to wait for that prompting before you pray for others. Our intercessory ministry as believers requires us to pray for others, without the Holy Spirit necessarily inspiring or prompting us at that moment to pray! It's something you do consciously. When you intercede for others this way and in accordance with the Word, it will be heard by God in just the same way as though the Holy Spirit inspired the words you spoke and carried out that particular ministry through you. There're certain rules guiding intercessory prayer which you must take into cognizance. First is, you must know you're not interceding for yourself. The prayer of intercession is always on behalf of someone else. Secondly, you'll have to be persistent about whatever it is you're interceding for. This is because you're trying to prevail on someone else to align with God's will. In the prayer of intercession, you're concentrating the influence of God's power toward others for their good, and that requires some persistence in prayer. Not only must you be persistent, you must also continue in prayer for as long as it takes for it to work. In the prayer of intercession, you don't stop praying until you get that note of victory in your spirit and are certain that you have what you asked for. Remember to join the Global Prayer Network on PastorChrisLive by 10pm (GMT+1) for an intercessory prayer session. God bless you. #cephzone1 #Thehappychurch #21DaysPnF

21 DAYS PRAYER AND FASTING DAY 6: Take a Stand Against Terrorism, Crime Rate, Violence And Every Act Of Wickedness In Our Nation Psalm 74:20 says, “…for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.” But Jesus said in Matthew 5:14, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Our nation today is far more complex than many expected it to turn out. Many are perplexed by the extent of evil and wickedness. Oftentimes, the News media reports the callous shooting of innocent people, even children in our schools, suicide bombings, militant attacks, and other forms of devilry carried out by wicked and unreasonable men. Such injurious and vicious acts of cruelty don't happen by themselves; they're orchestrated by agents of darkness over whom we have authority in the Name of Jesus. Therefore, we can't keep quiet, but exercise our dominion. Psalm 7:9 says, “Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end.... " • In the Name of Jesus, let us come against and rebuke all devils, including the ones that instigate and lure men into violence and wickedness, disasters, terrorist acts, kidnappings, and other vices in Nigeria; these principalities of evil that operate and set up their thrones in the heavenly realms, and control the affairs of men who yield themselves to them. • Jesus has given us power and authority over them all, to cast them out, irrespective of their description or rank. As we pray now, speaking fervidly in tongues, we’re restraining Satan and the cohorts of darkness from terrorizing and inflicting hardships and pains on men’s lives. .• Declare that there’s peace in your home, family, and in Nigeria; come against all forms of violence, wickedness, and terrorism in our nation, especially regions where the polity is continually heated. • Affirm that there’s light in the nations of the world; proclaim PEACE to every hitherto turbulent region, and that the Word of the Lord may prevail and be glorified. #cephzone1 #Thehappychurch #21DaysPnF

21 DAYS PRAYER AND FASTING DAY5: Praying Against Violent Attacks On Churches And Places Of Christian Worship Hebrews 10:25 says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” The Church is the ground and pillar of truth. It’s the place where you’re taught the truth—God’s Word that puts you over in life. However, considering the spate of attacks on Church buildings and places of Christian worship in our nation, it’s important that we pray and immediately stall these vicious and unreasonable attacks perpetrated by men of the underworld. • First, thank the Lord for helping us to know the importance of going to church and being in the environment of faith, where we’re taught the Word, equipped and trained to be more effective in the work of the Kingdom. • Right now, pray fervidly in the Spirit, against violent attacks on churches and places of Christian worship in Nigeria. And as believers all over the world gather together, to worship and minister unto the Lord in Word and in prayers, we do so without fear or intimidation, but in unison, courage and safety, being conscious of the psalmist’s submission in Psalm 91:1-3 (AMPC): “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.” • Declare heightened activity of angels in and around all church auditoriums, Christian places of worship and Christian gatherings everywhere in this nation; declare that nothing, and no one, shall be able to cause hurt or harm to the saints by any means. We are not victims; the church is marching on, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Psalm 91:11 says, “For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].” #cephzone1 #Thehappychurch #21DaysPnF
