PRAYER & FASTING GUIDE IN PREPARATION FOR THE NEW YEAR'S EVE SERVICE WITH PASTOR CHRIS SATURDAY 28TH DECEMBER 2019 🔘 Pray that throughout the 31st service, as Pastor ministers, the right spiritual atmosphere spreads over the FCT and the entire country, and the authority of the Spirit that the Lord has given us will be in strong manifestation, such that even the hardest of hearts will yield to the gospel, and changes will occur in men's lives, in families, in our government and all over our nation, for a glorious year 2020. EXODUS 40:34 (KJV) Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 🔘 Pray for all technical teams for this program, for the leading of God’s Spirit in their choices and procurement of required equipment. Declare that they know what to do at every point in time, functioning with the Spirit of excellence, resulting in seamless reception and transmission, and a glorious experience for all attendees. ROMANS 8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God... END OF YEAR PRAYER AND FASTING 🔘 Pray that as we give ourselves more to the Word and fellowship with the Spirit in these final days of the year of Lights, the Lord is opening our eyes and guiding us with clarity into His divine will in all areas of our lives; we see and apprehend that which He has made available to us, as we get ready to receive the word for 2020, with our hearts sensitive and ready to follow His every instruction. ISAIAH 45:1-3 - Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; 2-I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: 3-and I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. #enter2020withPastorChris #CEAMC #AMC31STSERVICE
FASTING —THE REAL ESSENCE Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly (Joel 2:15). People fast for different reasons. Some fast because they want to get an answer from God, thinking their fasting would compel Him to answer them. They see fasting as a means of getting God to do something He ordinarily wouldn’t have done, had they not fasted. That’s the wrong idea about fasting. I do fast, but I don’t fast to get God to do something for me. If you’re fasting so that God will do something for you, then you’re doing it for the wrong reason, because He’s done everything for you already. He already said, “All things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21); so what then is the purpose of fasting? You should fast, primarily, because it’s good spiritual exercise designed to bring the flesh under subjection of the spirit. Fasting gets you attuned to the Spirit to hear what God is saying, and be guided to do His will and follow His purpose for your life. Fasting helps you to align with God’s will and purpose, and positions you rightly for God’s Word to come to you. God may have been speaking to you and you may have not been picking His signals. However, through fasting you become sensitive and ready to receive the guidance and direction He’s giving you. Secondly, and very importantly, you should fast as an act of worship to the Lord. You can decide you just want to give the Lord a lot of attention, to love and cherish Him for some number of days or over a period. At such times you stay away from everything else, especially food, and just focus on Him, fellowshipping with Him. As you prepare for the coming year, take time to fast and pray; but let it be an opportunity to love and appreciate the Lord. Let it be a time to celebrate the Word and make your faith effectual by acknowledging the good things the Lord has done in you, and for you, in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
